We also passed by a southern BBQ joint called Moe's near the pier entrance on Pomeroy Avenue. They were just opening and the smell of smoked goodness was wafting on the street. It was intoxicating and we were instantly drawn inside. They did not disappoint with the pulled pork, ribs, beans, and cornbread we had for brunch. Do yourself a favor and eat there. For dessert, I stopped in the candy shop and got my sour gummy and salt water taffy fix. They also sold chocolate covered crickets, but some things are just not meant to be consumed, so I took a pass on that one.
One of our first few stops in California, once we got on the coastline, was Pismo Beach. This was a fun beach town to trek around in. Spent some time on the pier, hung out with a pelican, and took in the amazing views of the Pacific Ocean. The beach was beautiful, but it was also a very windy day so we didn't spend too much time bathing in the sun. The sand would sting us and leave a few layers on top of our skin. On the plus side, when I went back to the hotel and showered, I felt like I had seriously exfoliated.
