The holidays may be over, but I had to share some highlights of the Christmas session with the N family.

Olivia celebrated her first birthday with a good ol' cake smash!
Doing the photos at her birthday party was so much fun and made the session extra special. Olivia was all smiles for the camera and loved her big cupcake! What a wonderful way to celebrate her first year. Happy birthday Olivia! I had the pleasure of meeting and capturing this lovely family at Britannia Shipyards in Richmond, BC. We had such amazing weather too for the end of November! Here are some highlights from our day...
The cast and crew of ABC's hit show, Once Upon A Time, is back in town filming their 100th episode!
SPOILER ALERT! Well, not really since it was out in public space and the peeps there said it was all good. I could not resist taking some pics of the chaos and new shops in Steveston/Storybrooke. They wanted to take advantage of Autumn's beautiful colours at the park before the season turned. We were lucky to have dry weather that day, as it has been raining all week before and started up again that evening. They were so much fun to work with and were suck rock stars! ;)

This year's theme was "time travel" and I was honored to be invited by VCON to join in the fun for four days and be their photographer for the weekend. With so much to see and do, I got a lot of opportunity to take in and capture many events like: cosplay; gaming; speakers/panels; workshops; dances; contests; and so much more to keep you in geek nirvana.
Here are some highlights from the last two days (October 3rd and 4th) at VCON40. On the second night, there was even a live "Fandom Feud" game show. Hilarity ensued.

Click on thumbnails to view full-size images Last week, I was invited to take photos for VCON - Vancouver's premier science-fiction, fantasy, and gaming convention. While sorting through the thousands of photos I took of the four-day event, I pulled out the images to share from one of my favorite parts of the convention - Cosplay. For those who don't know, Cosplay is a portmanteau of the words "costume play", is a performance art in which participants called cosplayers wear costumes and accessories to represent a specific character. Most of the participants at VCON made their costumes from scratch, which is a requirement when competing for the glory, bragging rights, and often a nifty prize. I met so many talented and amazing cosplayers who put a lot of work, love, and perseverance into their art.

One will have to trek out in the darker areas to be able to get a view like this. A fast lens helps too. Here I used a 50mm lens to get these shots from Hope, BC.
(The moon was added from another shot in post-production - just to give it that little something extra) Click on thumbnails to view full-size images Such an awesome and beautiful family! Some previews from their family portrait session at the Britannia Shipyards, Richmond, BC.
